My wife and I adopted a one year old boy this year. Perhaps the biggest thing I’ve learned is patience. Basically, I don’t have any. Never have really. For certain things, I do. But when it comes to human beings, largely not. However, a one year old boy obviously doesn’t understand so I’ve had to learn to be the bigger man.
It hasn’t been easy, and I know I constantly fail. However, I think it’s making me a better person. I’m starting to think before I act and hopefully this will spill over into the rest of my life.
